It was a beautiful day for Heather Buck and Jimmy Bennett, as the best of friends married at The Branford House at Avery Point Groton, CT. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family and the spectacular views of Long Island Sound.  Officiant Sal Fiore of Weddings By Sal eloquently shared their “Love Story.” It takes an amazing talent to effectively communicate personalized stories and Sal is a true professional.

Kasey Sibrinsz Matson from Kasey Matson Photography and her husband followed Heather and Jimmy through their day, taking amazing pictures. They went above and beyond and did everything they could to ensure that Jimmy and Heather’s day flowed smoothly.

This day had a big UCONN influence as Jimmy Bennett was UCONN’s starting left tackle on the football team. Heather Buck was a member of 2 National Championships for the UCONN Women’s Basketball Team. One of the Bridesmaids was Kelly Farris who was on the team, and also attending was Coach Geno Aueriemma.

The look on Jimmy’s face said it all when he saw Heather in her wedding dress for the first time being escorted by her father during the processional song by Odessa called “I Will Be There.” Jimmy’s father, John gave the ultimate tribute toast along followed by best man Justin Jackson and man of honor Kevin DeMille.

As their Master of Ceremonies and DJ, it was an honor to share in their special day. My goal as an emcee  at Collins Entertainment is to help create special moments for every couple I work with.  Those magic moments were ever present on Saturday.

One couple in particular were not able to attend their wedding. To Jimmy and Heather’s surprise, Richard and Debbie called in to wish them well. In addition, they requested a special song for them by Tim McGraw, appropriately titled “My Best Friend.” Every person was up on the dance floor and the night ended with “Wagon Wheel” and “Shout.” I orchestrated and invited family and friends to surround them them on the dance floor. I then followed with “Okay, right now everybody get in nice and tight around Jimmy and Heather and show them some love” as everyone moved in close to them chanted the lyrics together in celebration. This is just one of the many great moments of their day that I will never forget! This is why I love what I do! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Bennett!!

My wife and I were looking for a DJ that would be able to keep people out of their seats and make sure they were having a good time. I can honestly say that Jim far exceeded our expectations. Our family and friends are by no means dancing people but every spare moment we had we were dancing and our friends and family were there right along side us. There was not a dull moment the whole night. He had plenty of things to make sure everyone could get involved in the fun and he played a great selection of music to accommodate to everyone’s taste. Jim also did a wonderful job of listening and filling our requests for song selections for the special dances and for our wedding ceremony itself. He provided all the necessary equipment and made sure everything went smoothly. In terms of planning I am sure he cannot be topped. He kept in constant contact and answered all questions we had. He made sure we didn’t forget anything and offered his opinion when we wanted/needed it. He was nothing but professional throughout the whole experience and I would highly recommend him for all those seeking a great experience.
