Common Bridgeport, CT Wedding DJ Questions

Here’s some helpful info to make your Bridgeport CT wedding great for your guests.

  • Dogtown: There are hot dogs and then there is Dogtown in nearby Milford. Here, hot dogs are an art form. And they’re made from locally sourced pork and beef. There are also burgers, chicken, and sides. It’s Southern California street food with an East Coast twist.
  • Tequila Revolucion: Just over in Fairfield, you’ll find authentic Mexican cuisine and hand-crafted, small-batch tequila. Or keep the party at home with their catering services.
  • Harborview Market at Black Rock: This restaurant likes to call itself the original social network. Friendly service and family-owned. Their beautiful baked goods make this eatery a great breakfast stop.
  • Park City Music Hall: The Torres family, owners of Harborview Market at Black Rock, have made a space featuring live music acts ranging from national touring bands to up-and-comers. And if you love tribute bands, they have a full lineup.
  • Bijou Theatre: Dating back to silent film days, this historic property is home to a strong local theater company and hosts productions throughout the year. The 200-seat theater provides a wonderful, intimate experience.
  • Stress Factory Comedy Club: From social media phenoms to national names, you can see them all at this comedy club. Catch a show and a laugh.
  • The Emporium: Rare books, magazines, vintage records, and local products by student entrepreneurs make this a unique Bridgeport shopping experience. Something for all ages.
  • Pious Bird of Good Omen: “It’s a place that is difficult to describe, and wonderful to behold.” Local and global handmade arts and crafts, vintage items, a spellbinding collection of crystals, and New Age esoterica.
  • Mongers Market: This indoor flea market is held on Sundays in a refurbished factory. You’ll find vintage, industrial, salvage, and antique items – and it’s always changing.
  • Seaside Park: This 2.5-mile-long crescent-shaped park, originally developed by circus master and civic leader CT Barnum, borders Bridgeport Harbor, Long Island Sound, and Black Rock Harbor. Take the breakwater rocks over to Fayerweather Island and visit the natural wildlife preserve.
  • Beardsley Zoo: For over 100 years, Connecticut’s only zoo has been involved in education, conservation, research, and recreation. From mid-September through the first of December on Thursdays, the zoo features the Glow Wild Lantern Festival. See colorful, larger-than-life illuminated displays.
  • PT Barnum Museum of Circus History: A tornado in 2010 caused major damage to this museum and it’s still under restoration. But the exterior of the museum is worth a walk-by and, in the meantime, next-door neighbor United Bank is hosting an exhibit of the personal items of PT Barnum and Tom Thumb.
  • Discovery Museum and Planetarium: Sit back and gaze at the stars in the planetarium, drop into one of the many interactive exhibits, and wander around the pollinator garden. This is a great stop for families – especially those with younger children.
  • The Adventure Park at Discovery Museum: Behind the museum, you’ll find a 5-acre park of ziplines, treetop platforms, ladders, and bridges. The 14 trails are rated by ability, giving everyone a jolt of adrenaline.
  • Housatonic Museum of Art: Located on the campus of Housatonic Community College, this is one of the premier college art collections in the US. Exhibit history spans from ancient times to today. A hidden gem worth exploring if you’re an art lover.
  • The Barnum Festival: This festival is actually a series of events held over several weekends in April, May, and June, winding up with a great street parade. It’s a celebration that honors legendary showman and city leader PT Barnum.
  • Milford Oyster Festival: This annual August event features sweet local oysters – 30,000 of them! Events and entertainment are also happening all day on the festival grounds.
